I am interested to hear from anyone regarding reputation management of the OP through the Alliance. IE. Do you think you need to stipulate from the outset the requirements in maintaining the OPs brand, repuation, customer satisfaction levels etc

Hi You could make the OP reputation, brand etc a particular KRA with a tangible KPI that would incentivise the NOP to keep the focus in this area.eg. No. of positve media events/ accolades etc. or Ongoing satisfaction levels of the OP with perceptions around Reputation etc. As well, most OPs have concerns in this area ( rightly so) and is sometimes a slection criteria or evaluation point in alliances where the OP usually chooses a NOP that can reassure them that they understand and can work with the OP to ensure OP and NOP reputaion is enhanced over the peiod of the alliance.

The whole purpose of an alliance is to create a virtual entity which represents all the participants. The notion of individual brands, reputation etc. is "left at the door" and is replaced by the collective reputation, capability etc of the alliance. The view is a successful alliance enhances the reputation of all participants when the alliance is concluded.

The reputation of the OP is closely aligned with the performance of the alliance as a whole. This is why the following must happen: - OP to carefully segregate its role as client and participant - Robust selection process to choose the best team to undertake the project/program - KRAs be developed by the OP initially (and communicated through the RFP) are indicative of the key risks of the project. - KPIs to be developed to closely align with the KRAs and monitored on an ongoing basis Yes the OP needs to stipulate clearly and carefully its requirements in all aspects of the alliance and this is done through the development of the KRAs and associated measures.
